Windows Vista(longhorn) to be Crippled for Pirates

October 7th, 2006 by admin | Posted under Tech News.

Microsoft’s new and most awaited  Windows Vista(Longhorn) operating system will cripple the usefulness of computers found to be running unlicensed copies of the new software, as the software giant attempts to prevent piracy that has followed the release of previous versions of its operating system. At first, people running a version of Windows Vista that the company believes is pirated will be denied access to some of the most-anticipated Vista features. Then, if the user doesn’t purchase a legitimate copy of Vista within 30 days, the system will frustrate users by allowing the Web browser to run for only an hour at a time. Microsoft said it won’t completely cripple a computer running a pirated version of Vista, and it will continue to deliver critical security updates.

so let’s wait and watch who is going to win the crackers and pirates as usual or MS .
